ARCS

Alumni of Rio Claro Central School

About Us

ARCS is an association for former pupils of the Rio Claro Central School also known as Rio Claro Government Secondary School. This initiative is driven by former students from the 1972 to 1977 set, but not exclusive to this group.

Aims and Objectives

  • To assess needs of individuals in the community, where there are hardship and gaps in the ability to meet basic needs.
  • Assist with meeting such needs through the mobilisation of resources from a basket of donors.
  • Raise awareness of those who are less able to meet basic needs in the community and encourage individuals and organisation to support through a variety of means and efforts to help meet such needs.

Vision
ARCS is not just an acronym but symbolises a spirit of altruism from the alumni of the Rio Claro Central School 1977 graduates. Forged from humble beginnings, this group represents a diverse and talented resource base with a common goal of social responsibility. The name is meaningful in that it illustrates both a pathway from past to present and more so that ARCS can provide a port in the storm, an "ARK" for those most in need.
The initial focus would be the communities in and around Rio Claro where the school was based, however the areas of interest would extend to the entire country as efforts and capabilities grow.
